Sketa
In 1997, Sketa was acknowledged by Korean Ministry of Cultural for dedicated service to the arts and ten years later she was awarded the Australia Day cultural/arts award for being one of six founding members of Arts Council Toowoomba Inc.

Sketa is an Author | Illustrator | Artist living and working internationally - both in Korea and Australia.
Originally from Toowoomba, Australia, Sketa studied Visual Arts at the renowned University of Southern Queensland - then the Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education. Since that period Sketa has gone on to complete studies in Education, Korean Linguistics and Diplomacy. As a fully qualified teacher and linguist, Sketa is all about keeping kids engaged and reading. She believes literacy begins at home and is all for promoting books and languages, regularly in schools. Sketa visits schools via the Author In Schools programme, will present for seminars and organise the installation of a Korean language at your school. Sketa has been an integral part of the USQ Bookcase since its inception and her author profile can be viewed at the Australian Society of Authors. She is a founding member of the MLTAQ Korean Teachers Network which promotes the learning of language in schools. |
