It is not every day that esteemed authors visit Seoul, but from May 23-25, 2017, if you're in the vicinity of the Kyobo Convention Hall in Gwanghwamun, central Seoul, then pop into the forum 'Literature and Its Readership in the Changing World'.
Hosted every five years by Daesan Foundation and Arts Council Korea, the Seoul International Forum for Literature (SIFL), you'll get to see, listen and mull over the thoughts of over fifty great authors from Korea, and thirteen esteemed writers~scientists from overseas. Of course, the event is in delivered in both Korean and English and will be the highlight of your literary calendar. So, you need to be there. We all know that books aren't just books and that for many of us, they are the inspiration form the Gods. Well not really, but they tend to mean quite a lot to us over the years, especially if we have grown up with them as kids. The award focusses on recognising and rewarding artistic excellence and talent in order to inspire creative development and enrich public life. Total winnings are in the value of $120,000 and is open to all Victorian residences; the finalist exhibition will take place in Federation Square - 13~27 November, 2017. So get out the welding torches, pots of glue, hammers and nails and discover the artist in you. Enter the Melbourne Prize Trust Awards by 17th May, 2017 - 5pm and you will be set for valuable funds to sit on your doorstep.
