Wandering the local bookstore this week, my eyes paused on the bookshelf of inspirational books.
Ann Patchett and her new book titled - ‘These Precious Days’, sat before me. I would never consider her to be an author of such writing, after having finished her last book - ‘The Dutch House’. This, incidentally, was just awesome! I was up for a bit more of her work, after having spent a very quiet Christmas and New Year at home, with not even the dog. Sad, I know… Anyhow, given all the support I could see on the back cover of the book - The Guardian, Gillian Anderson, The Observer, Jojo Moyes and even Indian Knight from the Sunday Times had appeared to truly enjoy the book, no end. So, I opened my wallet, took out the good old plastic and marched up to the counter to pay for it, there and then. Trust me, I wasn’t in the store any longer than 3 minutes – Yes! I was a girl on a mission. Now, have I read it yet? No… not yet. I plan to do it, this week; I’ll get back to you on what I thought. In the meantime, you might want to join me on the read. Pick up a copy for yourselves, at your favourite bookstore and we can share thoughts. Talk soon! Happy reading! P.S. Sooki Raphael has done the illustration – looks soo…good!
