Is this a free service?
Yes. This is a free service to authors. Although we are a publishing company, we are not in the position to offer everyone publishing contracts. So, to help out the hundreds of authors that send us manuscripts each year, we are offering you a free book promotion to help you get your books in front of the eyes of readers.
For those authors who would like more than the Free Book Submission; we can assist you further by offering you a Featured Book opportunity, whereby we will plug your book through our social media streams. This will also enable your book to be promoted through our newsletter. See SUBMIT for additional details.
Please remember - paid listings at all times, take priority over free listings.
Who can submit a book?
Any author can SUBMIT a book for this service, given the author writes children's books, young adult books, chapter books or educational books.
What happens next?
After you have submited your book, we will review your submission, checking it for errors etc and a confirmation letter will be sent to you. Once your submission is complete, it then goes live on our site, we then promote your book through either Facebook or Twitter. If there is sufficient time we will also PLUG it on Google+ or LinkedIn. However, please remember paid submissions take priority. Please remember it is esseential for you to place your social media links on your submission if you want to know where your book will be promoted. Yes, you can always get in touch, but we prefer to contact each author as soon as a promotion goes live over a social media feed.
Once we have collected around 10~15 submissions we will promote your book in our newsletter. Bi-monthly we will poll for readers for book enjoyment and satisfaction. Obviously, the more people that read, score and leave a review of your book on ELK Publishing, the better. The top three (3) books selected will score and In-depth Author Interview.
When I started writing, the biggest problem I found was getting the word out that I had actually written a book and secondly, getting sufficient reviews of my books for readers to purchase. Giving deserving authors additional opportunities for their work to be seen and heard will help kick start this process and pave the way to selling more books. I might not be able to offer you a full blown publishing contract, but I can help you and you book get noticed.
How long does it take before the book review/author interview is published?
We do our very best to publish this information within the week. Weekends are usually catchup time so we can start fresh Monday morning.
Can authors link their books to ELK Publishing social media pages?
Yes. We don't have any issues with this, we encourage you to do this. It will give you added exposure - please use our Facebook and Google+ pages. In return, we ask that you like or fan our page. Of course, if you are paying for a Featured listing then you'll already be featured there by us.
How can authors assist ELK Publishing to spread the word?
Please follow us and 'like' us on our social media accounts. We're on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ Instagram and LinkedIn. Given you should have an author website already set up, you can link back to ELK Publishing and let the world know you have a book review, been featured on or have been selected for an in-depth author interview our site.

How long will our book remain on the ELK Publishing website?
Given ELK Publishing revamps the site early December, then your book plug will be valid for around a year, give or take a month or two. That's a pretty good deal, hey?
How can I as an author do more to get my book out there?
You can 'Share' your ELK Publishing page/review/interview as much as you like. Just hit the 'Share' button for whatever social media account you wish and Bob's your uncle.
Can I request an author interview?
Yes. This is something you can submit easily. We've drafted up a few good questions for you to think about, draft up a response and send it to us. This way you can think seriously about how you might want to answer each question. Take your time. There is not time limit. Once you are complete, flick it to us and we will edit if needed and then freely plug your author interview on our site/newsletter.
This great practice for you to explain 'you' as an author. A reflective process as such enables you to learn about your practice and how that might relay to your audience/readers.
